: What is Cerec 3d ?

- CEREC is CAD CAM (computer driven) 3D technology , that helps dentist to restore your
destroyed tooth , to make a crown , to replace your defect amalgam fillings for a
ceramic onlay , inlay ,overlay , or change your smile completely,
and all of these in only one , approximately 2 hours lasting on chair session .
it means , that there is no need to take 2 or 3 appointments with your dentist,
and whole restoration can be done in one session , the same day .
: How does it work ?
- Right after the restoration planning is the tooth or it's rest prepared
and scanned by a special CEREC 3d camera . It means, that you don't need to get through
all that impressions in your mouth , as with classic method .
- Consequently , Cerec unit and 3D CAD CAM software execute the scan of your tooth
to 3D digitalized form . You just sit in the chair and watch whole process on the doctors
computer screen .
- Dentist and software will shape new restoration , crown , veneer ,
onlay , inlay on screen, that takes approx. 10 minutes , and then is the restoration predesign
sent to a Cerec milling unit .
- After the milling , is restoration tried out in your mouth , could be coloured , polished ,
and stiched by adhesive technique to your mouth . After final customizations in your mouth ,
is your crown , onlay , inlay , veneer ready to use , and non visible .
